An independent creator's invitation

Support Me

A personal letter about the work, and the life behind it.

This is the biggest project I have worked on in my life. I am placing my writing, world-building, audio, and music before people in the hope that what I have made can offer something valuable. The website is free for everyone: you do not have to subscribe or pay to be part of it. Alongside that offer, I am asking for voluntary contributions to support the person making it.

Your essential needs come first

Please put your own and your family's essential needs first. If a contribution would take money from food, housing, health, or other necessities, keep it for those needs. You are welcome to read and explore here without paying. Following or sharing is welcome when you want to; it is never a condition of belonging. You do not owe promotion or engagement in exchange for free access.

The person behind the work

To the people who find their way here

A massive part of this project reflects difficult experiences I have lived through, including experiences I am still living through. I am not going to turn those experiences into a list of private details here. But I do want you to understand that this work comes from my life. The questions it carries, and the effort to give them a form other people can enter, matter deeply to me.

I am developing it as an independent creator, with assistance from AI tools, including ChatGPT. The writing, the literary world, the readings, and the music are different ways of bringing this particular craft to people. Some of what you can encounter has already been made; other parts are still being built. This is a large, continuing undertaking, not a claim that every imagined world, recording, or feature is finished.

I want people to have access to it without a required website subscription. I want someone who has little money to be able to take part, too. Offering the work this way is also a real financial risk for me. Giving people access does not remove the costs of living, the responsibilities of caring for a family, or the time it takes to keep creating.

Contributions also help keep this living moral work available worldwide to people whom even a small price could exclude. For some readers, the smallest contribution could be money their family needs for food. Keeping access free means they do not have to choose between those needs and taking part. This is one of the central reasons I am asking those who can and want to contribute to help sustain it.

Support materially affects whether I can meet basic living needs, care for my family, be present as a father, and continue this work. I hope to survive, and eventually to thrive: to become financially independent and have a steadier life from which I can keep writing and building. Sustaining that life and this work depends in part on enough people choosing to support it.

That is a serious request, and I want to make it plainly. It is not a bill addressed to every person who reads a page. No individual reader is responsible for my survival. You do not owe me a payment because you recognize something in the work, and I do not want someone to give money they need for their own life. The invitation is to contribute if you value what is here and have room to do so.

The exchange I hope for is simple: I offer as much of the value of this craft as I can, and some of the people who benefit return a small amount so I can keep making it. That is a hope about sharing value, not a promise about how money is divided or a measure of anyone's generosity. The work can mean something to you even if you never pay me.

Financial support would help with my ordinary livelihood and family responsibilities as well as the project's actual production expenses: tools, hosting, artwork, audio, music, and, when possible, collaboration. I have worked to reduce production costs, including through AI assistance. Those savings do not erase the human time and living costs behind the work. Contributions are not restricted solely to a website-cost fund unless a specific offer expressly says otherwise.

If you choose to support me, you help make room for a person to keep practicing a craft and offering it to others. If money is not an option, you are still welcome here. Reading, listening, following a channel you enjoy, sharing a thoughtful link, or bringing a sincere question can help this work reach people. I am asking for support without making payment the price of belonging.

Voluntary contributions

As little as $1, if you wish

If it fits your means, a voluntary contribution starting at US $1 is welcome. A larger or recurring voluntary contribution would also be optional. There is no contribution amount everyone can afford, and no amount you need to give to belong here.

No payment is collected in this preview. A genuine contribution destination and its terms still need to be put in place. When one is available, it must clearly say whether your choice is one-time or recurring, show the amount, currency, any taxes, and the cancellation and refund terms before you pay. A recurring contribution will require your explicit choice.

The website is free for everyone. There is no required website subscription, tier, proof of hardship, or separate purchase for each world. Suggested recurring amounts would be voluntary contributions, not prices for access. The contribution arrangements are still in preparation.

A published book, if you would like a copy

Moral Injury and Consequences in paperback

Buying the paperback gives you a physical copy of the book and supports me as its author. The website reading remains free; a book purchase is a separate, optional choice.

Time and attention matter, too

You can help without spending money

Read something that interests you. Listen to a reading or a piece of music when it is available. Share a link with someone who might enjoy it. Follow the channels you actually want to hear from. These choices help the work find an audience; a follow does not automatically pay me or guarantee platform income.

Thoughtful conversation

Bring your questions, too

A thoughtful question, a different reading, or a useful suggestion can help this work grow. Respectful short replies are welcome. You do not need to write an essay or agree with me to take part.

Reader comments and replies are written text only. No reader image, audio, video, file, or media-embed posting is planned. Creator artwork belongs on the stable reading, creature, or place page, while conversation stays separate from the interactive scene.

Please discuss ideas without insults, harassment, threats, hate, private-information exposure, spam, or repetitive hostile exchanges. Contributors and noncontributors follow the same rules. A future shared service will need meaningful human moderation, reporting, and a fair review route; those tools are not live here.

Use each subject’s discussion entry to reach its stable reading page. My conversations · this device and Following · this device return to saved local threads. Replies · service status explains that shared replies are not connected. There are no real reply notifications, shared identity or cross-device history. Any later email or browser alert would require an actually built feature and your choice to enable it.

At present, the preview's notebook stays in your browser on your device. Saving a note or reply does not send it to me or publish it for others.

Reading is a way to begin

The public reading stays public

The website is free for everyone, without a required subscription to be part of it. Released work and development plans should be clearly distinguished; free access is not a claim that everything planned is already finished or online.

The established public commitments remain explicit: all introductions, openings, and equivalent introductory components are free in full within their identified scope. Every website editorial familiarization paragraph is free, too. All of Moral Injury and Consequences and all sixteen complete Believing readings are free in full, including their parts. None of these requires an account, follow, or subscription.

Substack's existing optional paid text subscription is separate from this website unless a specific offer expressly connects them. This website direction does not change external Substack prices, subscriptions, or billing. A future website change will not automatically cancel a Substack payment.

Across the world's languages

My long-term vision is to make this living moral work accessible in all the world's languages. Voluntary contributions could help sustain that effort, so language as well as money becomes less of a barrier to taking part. That is an aspiration, not a claim that every language is available or a promise of a completion date.

The website is published in English. For now, you can choose Spanish or another supported language through your browser's existing Translate feature. Look for Translate in your browser's menu or address bar, choose a language it supports, and use its original-language option when you want to return to the English text. Available controls and languages depend on your browser.

For now, the website provides instructions only, without a built-in translator or a separate translation-service registration or fee for the creator or reader. A version produced by your browser is an automatic reading aid, not a reviewed translated edition. Keep the original English available when comparing coined names or moral distinctions, and report a possible error rather than treating the automatic wording as a change to the source.

Where I hope this leads

I hope to build a sustainable life in which I can keep offering the work freely and people can support it voluntarily. Other income—from possibilities such as podcasts, speaking, public performance, travel, or partnerships—might help make that possible. None of that is secured income or a promised timetable, and I cannot guarantee financial independence, every planned expansion, or permanent operation.

Much has already been written and built toward the first release. I want that first release to give people a great deal to read, see, and explore, while clearly showing what is available and what is still in development. If it attracts enough voluntary contributions and other resources, I could devote more time to expanding the writing, artwork, audio, environments, and language access. That could allow development to move faster; its pace would depend on the resources actually available, not a promised level of income or success.

Voluntary contributions go to me as an individual creator; they are not represented as tax-deductible charitable contributions. Any specific offer, existing subscription obligation, and applicable refund or consumer right must still be honored.

If you find something here worth spending time with, that is a good place to begin.
