Protopomorphogenia · Voluntary support
A one-time contribution
A voluntary contribution helps sustain Justin Mahlan’s life and the work he offers here: writing, research, world-building, artwork, audio and music. The released website remains free. Please keep money needed for your own or your family’s essentials.
Choose your amount, once
One-time contributions start at US$1. You choose the amount in US dollars and review it on Stripe before confirming. This does not start a subscription or purchase reading access, a commissioned service or a guaranteed future benefit.
Read the contribution terms and privacy notice, plus Stripe’s relevant consumer terms and Privacy Policy, before confirming a payment.
Opens Stripe’s hosted checkout in a new tab. Choose your USD amount and review the final details there. This button does not charge you automatically.
Before paying, read the contribution terms and privacy notice. Payment methods and international availability depend on what Stripe actually offers for your payment. Your bank or provider may apply its own fees.
Spectatores Originis
One verified successful contribution of US$140 or more qualifies under the current website rule, before processor fees. Exactly US$140 qualifies; separate contributions are not added together. This is independent of Substack’s suggested annual subscription amount.
Public recognition is entirely optional. The default is no public entry. If you choose, you can request a name or Anonymous, an optional message, and separate permission for a public amount, self-described location and the Spectatores Originis label. You can review an exact preview before preparing a request. Payment verification and human moderation come before publication.
Rule: spectatores-originis-website-v1. A later rule will not remove recognition legitimately earned under this rule or require an additional payment. No future increase or date is set.

A contribution is one way to take part
Reading, listening, following a channel you enjoy or sharing a thoughtful link are welcome when you want to. You do not owe a payment, promotion or engagement to belong here. Read the creator’s personal letter.
We’re exploring additional ways to contribute. No Zelle or PayPal website contribution option is currently offered here.
Free publication emails use the separate Substack signup; a payment email never enrolls you automatically. Paid creative and website services use their own agreed scopes and payment arrangements.
