Narration only
For a reading without accompanying music, when you want the voice and words on their own. The listening library provides actual controls; audio never starts automatically.
The reader’s part in the world
Choose what helps you enter, understand, and return.
This website is being built around the reader’s experience: how you reach the writing, spend time with it, find connections, and come back with questions. You can read directly, explore a place, use a map or list, or learn the controls at your own pace. The choices are meant to help you take part in a way that suits you.
The website is free for everyone. Reading and exploration require no payment, subscription, follow, hardship qualification, or completed lesson. Voluntary contributions and nonfinancial support are optional. Please keep money needed for your own and your family’s essentials.
A stable reading page lets you give attention to the words without having to navigate a landscape.
Use the reading room when you already want to read. It offers a direct route to assembled material. Check the title and scope: a complete work, an introduction, a selected passage, and a source reference are different kinds of entry. Free access does not mean every planned work or format has already been assembled.
Still artwork and source context can stay beside their relevant reading. You can pause, return, or choose another entry without earning a score or completing an earlier route.
Different finding tools let you use a title, a collection, a connection, or a readable list instead of depending on one way of searching.
In the library map, search for a writing, browse a region, select a node, and inspect its full title and scope. Pan, zoom, Fit view, and Focus selected help you arrange the view. List gives another route to the reading choices without searching for an orb in space.
Written legend labels distinguish collection membership, recorded reading order, Read alongside, and Suggested comparison. A nearby node does not automatically mean a related text, and a reading connection is not necessarily a physical road. These distinctions let you explore a comparison without being told that two works mean the same thing.
A landscape and an encounter can provide another point of entry, with a way back when you want to stay with the writing.
The current world study includes Lanternback’s threshold, cave viewpoints, and the immediate mountain approach. Named routes move between adjacent viewpoints; looking around changes your view. A regional Map can help you inspect your bearings without moving until you choose its travel action. Wider regions and richer interactions are still developing.
When you open writing from an encounter, use its context-carrying reading link and the reading page’s specific return-to-viewpoint link. That is how you keep the relevant place and view in reach. The library has its own map-return routes. A generic Home link is a different choice.
Optional teaching can make travel more comfortable while leaving room for discovery and uncertainty.
The learning guide begins with going out from the threshold and finding a way back. You can then practise looking, branches, maps, scope, camera controls, reading returns, and optional study conditions. Use only the lessons that interest you; there is no compulsory course or quiz.
You can also stay with a place, notice its landmarks, venture out, and return until it becomes familiar. Beginning again can mean taking a fresh bearing where you already are. That openness does not excuse broken or inaccessible controls. Personal saved flags, home-building, and a fully expanded world are future possibilities, not requirements for being here.
Comfort and choice
The current study offers mouse, touch, and keyboard controls, with differences between scene looking and library-map movement. Visible buttons and written routes remain important alongside gestures. The learning guide explains the actual focus and shortcut choices.
Use List or a direct reading page when spatial navigation is not useful to you. Keep view changes still and system reduced-motion preferences can reduce movement; Soften light changes scene brightness. These are practical choices, not a claim that every device or accessibility need has already been tested.
English remains the website’s published language. You can choose Spanish or another supported language using your own browser’s Translate feature. The language guide explains the existing browser controls and how to return to English, without a built-in website translator or separate translation-service fee.
Automatic wording is a reading aid rather than a reviewed edition. Keep the original available for coined names and moral distinctions. Making this living moral work accessible across all the world’s languages is a long-term aspiration, without a promised completion date.
Current local notebook · shared service still developing
Subject reading pages keep their writing, still artwork, and text-only response space together, while the interactive scene remains clear. Contextual discussion actions lead to a subject; the central Reading & conversation directory helps you find those spaces.
For now, your notebook stays in this browser on this device. My conversations and Following find saved local threads across subjects. A local thread or contribution link can take you back to that entry on this device, without retracing the whole world. It does not send the notebook to anyone or recover it on another device.
Replies currently shows service status, not messages arriving from other readers. Shared discussions, free stable reader identity and recovery, cross-device conversation history, and real unread replies still need an actual service. No email or browser alert is active.
Respectful short questions, thoughtful disagreement, and useful suggestions are welcome. Reader posts are written text only: no reader images, audio, video, files, or automatic embeds. A shared service will need meaningful human moderation, reporting, and fair review. Contributing money gives no special authority over discussion.
Listening choices · recorded selections available
Listening is another way to spend time with the work. The listening library now offers 43 previously elected narration recordings in this listening library, with play controls and MP3 download links. Choose a voice-only recording and check its scope. Narration with music is a separate developing choice; no matched music edition has been verified for these recordings.

A separate version for those who want a musical setting. It should be clearly identified so you can choose rather than have music imposed on every reading.
The catalogue follows the recorded source order within Volumes I and II and keeps Volume III in preparation. Moral Injury and Consequences has 38 of its 45 authored chapters, plus one selected original front-matter recording, with seven missing chapters shown. Three Volume II recordings cover limited opening sources. One NAMING index commentary is separate companion material, with no invented position in the main sequence. These recordings do not certify word-for-word alignment with later revised writing. The existing YouTube channel is a separate destination; it does not certify both editions of every work.

Ordinary YouTube video background and screen-off playback on mobile are Premium features, and mobile-browser background playback also requires Premium under YouTube’s current rules. Availability depends on the app, content, and location; the website cannot promise free screen-off playback for every video. YouTube’s Premium/background rules · Mobile-browser background rules.
YouTube Music says most podcasts can play in the background without a paid membership, subject to content and regional differences. That does not mean this project is already available as a podcast. Podcast distribution remains a future assessment. The website’s selected MP3 downloads are available from the listening library; background playback still depends on your browser and device. Free website access does not include an external platform’s paid features. No new platform membership or podcast distribution is opened by this page.
No obligation to promote
You can read or listen to material you enjoy, share an ordinary link, or follow an existing channel. Following can help the work find an audience; it does not automatically pay the creator or guarantee platform income. None of these actions is owed in exchange for free website access.
Substack offers free follow/subscription choices and a separate optional paid text subscription. That external paid offering is unchanged by this free website. A website visit or voluntary contribution does not subscribe you, stop a Substack payment, or join the two accounts.
You do not have to experience the work in every form. Choose a reading, an encounter, a route, or a quiet return. What is available now and what is still being made should stay clear as the project grows.
