~ The Paradox of Fear at the Moment of Judgement ~ ~ Φοβοπαράδοξα Κρίσεως Ἀγῶνος ~
they keep
offering paths
endless paths
each hero swears their way will keep you alive
they show you
what they can see they shield you from
what they cannot
because you cannot see you cannot move
their paths preserve you they preserve your fear
they keep the darkness just outside your closed eyes as
a warning and call
this safety
the presence is
everywhere you are forbidden
to look around every corner at every dead end just beyond everything you can see
it is never closer than when your eyes are closed
it does not offer a path it knows it cannot escape the maze
it offers itself hoping to explore new routes formed by your mind
what once seemed a monster is met now as an old friend
to embrace it is
to be seen standing with what others came to destroy
the heroes will turn
they will say you have aligned with the monster
they will say you are the monster
this is the only way not to lose yourself not to lose your mind
even if you never leave the labyrinth
you understand then why the heroes keep coming
they are still mapping their own darkness
by choosing not to flee yours you become
the one thing they could not find
a reference point
a signal a light in the dark
the labyrinth flexes
the maze of your mind bends
the bowstring of your soul is drawn so tight you could break at any moment
you stand arrow leveled
not toward hostile salvation not toward the monster of your darkened reflection
toward a truth
the truth it was never about escaping the maze
the truth you were never in the maze
the maze is in you
not yours alone
every mind you touched left a passage
every fear you carried interwove with another
what you called your labyrinth was already braided with countless others
shifting adapting learning
you were not lost inside it
it may have been lost in you
the maze is maddening fear
the labyrinth is enduring knowledge
knowledge
is telos perfect aim
the arrow is released
